Art/Creative Therapy

Using art materials to allow clients to explore their issues (there is no need to be artistic at all). Often drawing or colouring something out, can give you a fresh perspective on the issue. And sometimes it helps to just look at it from another viewpoint (eg. Like turning the picture upside down). Using Creative Processes involves the application of play or creativity through artwork (painting, sketching, sculpting, etc.) as a means to tap into emotional issues and work through them.Perth Hills Art Therapy Using Creative Processes/Art Therapy uses art making to improve and enhance the physical, mental and emotional well-being of individuals of all ages. It is based on the belief that the creative process involved in artistic self-expression helps people to resolve conflicts and problems, develop interpersonal skills, manage behaviour, reduce stress, increase self-esteem and self-awareness, and achieve insight.” I regularly co-facilitate Art Therapy groups, including a one day Introduction to Art Therapy workshop for those who would like to try it out. Please visit the Group Work page to see what is currently running or coming soon.
